Vice President, Programs and Services

West Vancouver, BC
Reporting to the COO, this role provides executive, strategic and operational leadership, advice and expertise to the development and implementation of community health and wellness programs and services, operational partnerships, health surveillance and data, research, and knowledge exchange and funding arrangements. Services and programs include Environmental Public Health, Mental Health and Wellness, Wellness Programs Supports and eHealth. The work includes the transformation of existing programs in line with community and organizational direction; which includes efforts to regionalize programs and services, which will, over time, significantly shift the work of this position and the department. This role requires the ability to interact with community level leadership and health directors as well as executives at the Ministry of health and regional health authorities. The successful candidate will have familiarity with First Nations context and factors affecting health care.
Education & Experience
- Master’s degree in a health or health related field;
- recent, relevant and significant experience at an executive level in Indigenous health and wellness policy, relationships, planning, reporting/surveillance, evaluation, knowledge exchange and comprehensive health and wellness service and program delivery;
- experience working with First Nations at political, regional and community levels in the areas of health and wellness;
- experience providing oversight and support to the building, implementation and evaluation of funding arrangements to First Nations;
- experience providing executive leadership to large and geographically dispersed teams.
